WORK
I used pigmented porcelain:
I build with it, I observe how the substance
I have prepared gradually loses its shine,
showing the lack of moisture, and becomes
a fragile skeleton that has to be fired at a very
high temperature for several hours to make the
fragile rigid so that we can hold it in our hands
without feeling that it is turning into dust.
In a slow process; time and matter give signals
of progress, it is there with my raised hand I
let drops of porcelain falls and start to form a
structure. Practice and repetition make me leave
the porcelain in the right place to create this
continuous fabric, sometimes messy,
with contrasts that try to look like a moving
canvas.
in this disorder appears this obsession of constantly
redoing the same action, like a breath, a pulse.
Each sphere has a weight, a limit, a brightness, an
expression ... it balances or is supported by the other
and thus form a total in which each has its
perfect place.
Emptiness is the starting point.
It is from the background
that we can distinguish the form.
Porcelain and the empty space
discuss form and background,
dependent on each other;
the background is the form -
the form is the background.
